 Text Box: Apprenticeships Available   Inside-Commercial/Industrial Apprenticeship    Inside electrical construction work involves the layout, assembly, installation, and connection of all electrical apparatus, equipment, fixtures, and wiring used in electrical systems.  This program requires a minimum of 180 hours of classroom training each year for five years, and 8000 hours of on-the-job training.  Apprentices work for electrical contractors in Lake County, Illinois assigned by the training director.  After completion of this program, students may complete an associates degree with the College of Lake County by taking five additional general education classes at the College.    Residential Trainee Program The residential apprenticeship is a three-year program, where residential trainees learn to install power, communication, and security systems according to local codes and standards.  They will work on houses, condominiums, some apartment buildings, and some assisted living facilities. This program requires a minimum of 180 hours of classroom training each year for three years, and 4800 hours on on-the-job training.  Trainees work for electrical contractors in Lake County, Illinois assigned by the training director.  Telecommunication Apprenticeship Program The telecommunication apprenticeship is a four-year program, where the apprentice focuses on the telecommunications and data transmission fields.  This program requires a minimum of 180 hours of classroom training each year for four years, and 6400 hours of on-the-job training.  Apprentices work for electrical contractors in Lake County, Illinois assigned by the training director.     TO CONTACT US: LAKE COUNTY JATC 31290 N.
